Additional offers for occupational therapy
Specialized therapies for everyday life, exercise, and health
Supplementary offers for greater therapeutic success
At the Fugmann Occupational Therapy Center, we offer additional specialized services alongside traditional occupational therapy treatments. These complement the therapy in a meaningful way, enhance the success of the treatment, and promote independence in everyday life.
All additional services take place once a week and are carried out by specially trained therapists.
Our additional services at a glance
Hand therapy
Surgery, injuries, or illnesses can severely limit hand function. In hand therapy, we work specifically to improve mobility, strength, and sensitivity.
Our specially trained therapists will practice everyday movements with you and advise you on suitable aids. This enables you to regain lost functions step by step.
Typical areas of treatment:
- Rheumatic diseases
- Amputations
- Neuropathies (sensory disorders)
- Hemiplegia (paralysis of one side of the body after a stroke)
ADL group therapy
In ADL group therapy (Activities of Daily Living group therapy), we work with patients to practice basic everyday situations. The aim is to promote independence and develop strategies for coping with limitations.
Typical activities:
- Dementia, e.g., Alzheimer’s disease
- Neurological diseases in old age (e.g., stroke)
- Consequences of fractures or amputations
Brain training - Group therapy
In brain training, we specifically promote attention, memory, and concentration. Together in a group, we develop strategies to better compensate for limitations in everyday life.
Typical clinical pictures:
- Dementia / Alzheimer’s disease
- Stroke
- Traumatic brain injury
- Parkinson’s disease
- Multiple sclerosis
- AD(H)D
Kinesio tape therapy
Kinesiotaping was developed in Japan in the 1970s and has since established itself as an effective complement to the treatment of muscles and the musculoskeletal system.
The elasticity of the tape supports the tissue in its function without restricting freedom of movement. It improves blood and lymph flow, reduces pain, and can accelerate healing after injuries.
Possible uses:
- Support for muscle complaints
- Pain relief
- Promotion of lymphatic drainage
- Supplement after tissue trauma or surgery
Our goal
With our additional services, we want to give patients the opportunity to work even more specifically on their individual challenges. All services are practical, geared toward everyday life, and promote independence.
Costs and prescription
Occupational therapy is a treatment recognized by statutory health insurance providers. The costs are usually covered if a doctor’s prescription is provided. Occupational therapy can also be used preventively.
