Occupational therapy for children
Occupational therapy in childhood and adolescence
Our passion: We want to give children the best possible conditions for healthy development and harmonious coexistence. That is why we at the Fugmann Occupational Therapy Center specialize in infants, children, and adolescents up to the age of 18.
Occupational therapy helps children develop motor, cognitive, and social skills and overcome difficulties at an early stage. Through playful exercises, we create positive experiences that strengthen the child in the long term.
In which cases is occupational therapy used for children?
Typical areas of application:
- Disorders of fine motor skills and graphomotor skills
- Developmental delays (global or partial)
- Perceptual disorders
- Autism spectrum disorders
- Learning disorders
- Behavioral abnormalities
- Disabilities
Learning together through play
Children learn more easily than adults – and this is precisely where occupational therapy comes in. We use playful methods to promote mental, social, and physical abilities. Movements are controlled, improved, and pain-free sequences are practiced.
With targeted exercises, we sharpen sensory perception, improve concentration and endurance, and strengthen motivation and curiosity. This enables children to participate better in everyday school life, feel more comfortable in family life, and improve their social integration.
Counseling for parents and relatives
Only comprehensive therapy leads to success. That is why we at THZ Fugmann also involve the children’s environment. Parents, kindergartens, and schools are actively involved in the therapy.
This brings advantages for both sides:
- We receive important information about the child
- You can support the therapy and reinforce exercises at home
Information for kindergartens and schools
We maintain contact with kindergartens and schools in order to involve educators.
- Upon request, we inform teams about our work in meetings
- We are available to answer any questions you may have
- If you suspect developmental disorders, we are happy to advise you individually
- Upon request, we also visit schools and kindergartens directly
This is how we create a reliable network that provides long-term support for your child’s development.
Our goal
At THZ Fugmann, we want to help children discover, strengthen, or develop new skills. Each therapy is tailored to the child in a playful and individualized way, helping them overcome obstacles and master their everyday lives with confidence.
Costs and prescription
Occupational therapy is a treatment recognized by statutory health insurance providers. The costs are usually covered if a doctor’s prescription is provided. Occupational therapy can also be used preventively.
